“Break my heart. Break it a thousand times if you like. It was only ever yours to break anyway.”

Summary

The time has come for one winner to be crowned.

When she was chosen to compete in the Selection, America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown—or to Prince Maxon’s heart. But as the end of the competition approaches, and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, America realizes just how much she stands to lose—and how hard she’ll have to fight for the future she wants.

Personal Experiences

I just want to say, before I start, that this book is by far my favorite, and I love this series. Now the technical stuff:
In my personal opinion, the series could’ve ended right here. The ending is very final, and could potentially lead to other ideas. I don’t mind the series continuing, but as I have repeatedly said, to a point where it is almost redundant, this series would’ve been a fantastic trilogy. As of the third book, the reader witnesses a great deal of character development and the placement and plot of the book is very inspiring. I am very content with the series, as of now, and hope to continue this feeling throughout the final two sequels. Four and a half stars. ?????

Quotes

“The best people all have some kind of scar.”

“This isn’t happily ever after.
It’s so much more than that.”

“I’ll love you until my very last breath. Every beat of my heart is yours. I don’t want to die without you knowing that.”

Note: You might notice that below I have inserted what looks like a citation. I have received more than a few private comments that have asked for a MLA citation of a certain post. I have done this. If you have any questions please feel free to comment below or email me at Contact Me. Please use this new edition to your advantage. I have done this for most of my posts, but if you happen to need a citation for a post that doesn’t have one, again contact me via comments or email. Thank you so much for supporting me and my blog.
