Hey. I have been writing a book since July of 2015, and I am full of experiences to share with you. I am not an experienced writer, however, I love to write, and share what I have written. I have no right to give tips but will do a few times throughout. About every month, I plan to write a post with my experiences of the past month and how the writing has been going. I will gladly answer the questions or responses you write in the comments.
This November, I also plan to participate in my first ever NaNoWriMo (National November Writing Month). NaNoWriMo was started back in 1999 as a motivational stunt for a small group of writer friends. It’s since become a nonprofit organization with staff, sponsors, a fundraising gala and, in 2009, nearly 120,000 contestants. Participants agree to start and complete a novel of 50,000 words or more during the month of November. To “win,” all you have to do is meet that goal. 2009’s NaNoWriMo had 21,683 such winners. Most writers begin their planning in October, to make sure they get in the most writing time possible in November. Authors you may know, such as John Green and Maureen Johnson, participate in this annual event. I am planning to begin posting NaNoWriMo postings starting in October. I will also be posting a few reports during November. If you want to write with us this November, find out more information at the official NaNoWriMo website.
Happy writing and reading,
