Agents of Preparedness Escape Room

What is it?

The Disaster Preparedness Escape Room is a chance for kids to learn about the many natural disasters that could affect them and their community and how to prepare for them.

The entire escape room will take place over a ZOOM call and will be a PowerPoint done in teams.

Following the escape room will be a Q&A session with three trained individuals in the emergency preparedness area available to answer any question the participants may have and to teach them more about the topic in general.

The Escape Room

Participants will be randomly assigned into groups of three. Within this team, they will be introduced to a scenario by their moderator. They will work together to solve the puzzles and escape the game designed for them. They will have 25 minutes to try and escape.

The escape room will take place over PowerPoint. Each participant will be responsible for downloading the presentation to participate. If you are a student or a teacher, you can download the Microsoft Office product for free here. You will need a school-issued email address.

The escape room is designed to teach the participants the basic knowledge they need to be prepared for emergencies. It should intrigue them and give them an idea of how prepared they would be should any disaster come upon them.
