“The day had finally arrived, a day I’d been awaiting for ten years. A glorious day, a momentous day, a day of import and distinction
It was time to buy a hot dog.”
From “New York Times” bestselling author Brandon Sanderson’s action-packed novel “Steelheart” comes “Mitosis,” a short story set in the world of The Reckoners series, exclusively available in the digital format.
Steelheart may be dead, but Epics still plague Newcago and David and the Reckoners have vowed to fight back.
Catch all the action before “Firefight,” the exciting sequel to “Steelheart,” hits shelves in January 2015.
This happens to be a 5 or 6 chapter short story book (e-book actually). It is only on e-book and doesn’t exist as a hard copy or paperback.
I kind of enjoyed this book, because it gave a little information of what happened between Steelheart (Reckoners #1) & Firefight (Reckoners #2). Also not reading this book will lead to minor confusion, when reading Firefight because, David, Megan, and the Reckoners refer to him only a few times.
Personally, I finished this book on a bus ride home. It is very short, very informational, and very touching.
“Some of us fought back with guns and assassinations. Others fought back with a little hot dog stand on the corner.”
“Yellow mustard, onions, chunked tomatoes, sweet pickle relish, peppers—whole, of course, and pickled—a dill pickle slice, and a pinch of celery salt. Just like I remembered. A true Chicago dog looks like someone fired a bazooka at a vegetable stand, then scraped the remnants off the wall and slathered it on a tube of meat. I”
“Epics have this habit of treating physics like something that happens to other people, like acne and debt.”
“It’s okay. I’m a rhinoceros astronaut.” She was silent a moment. “Oh, sparks. You’re going delusional.” “No, no. I mean, I’m surprising. I’ll surprise him. What’s the most surprising thing you can think of? Bet it’s a rhinoceros astronaut.”
“I wanna kiss you!” I shouted. “Like the wind kisses the ra-i-ain!”
“Air. Air is really, really awesome.”
Where to find Mitosis
*If you are unaware, I have a video on how to use Indie Bound as a resource on how to find books
**Also, if you have a Windows Phone, there is a really good EPUB reader app called Bookviser Reader. You can check out their website here.
Happy Reading . . .
